Specialized Turbo Levo 2022, a masterpiece … but it is blocked at 25 Km/h!

If until the previous series the only thing that was missed on a Specialized was a display, now this too has been solved. The new TCU MasterMind (code TCU02) manages with its simplicity to show all the information strictly necessary for the cyclist and, at the same time, does not “ruin” the clean and modern line of the Turbo Levo ebike.

Obviously an ebike of this level deserves adequate tuning. We have in fact developed the Ribelle for Specialized Turbo Levo specifically for this ebike. A tuning that, for the first time, does not require to be installed in the engine area (often dirty and which takes too long to be “disassembled” and reach the connectors) but directly to the TCU MasterMind.

The tuning SpeedFun Ribelle for Specialized seen up close

A simple product that will allow you to enjoy this fantastic ebike, and the fantastic Brose S-Mag motor that it mounts, up to speeds that can exceed 60 Km / h. The advantages of this new tuning device include:

  • Possibility to switch the tuning on/off at any time thanks to a combination of easily accessible buttons on the handlebar control.
  • Easy to install and remove (in case of need 😉).
  • Equipped with original connectors, there is no need for wiring changes or anything else. It is sufficient disconnect the original connector and interpose the tuning SpeedFun Ribelle.
  • The new TCU MasterMind will mark all real data and you can keep track of your performance.
  • Waterproof. Thanks to the total immersion of the electronic board in a special resin, this device does not fear water.

 

Tuning installation

1. Remove the screw that secures the TCU

Using a Torx key, unscrew the screw that secures the TCU to the frame. Once this is done, extract the TCU.

2. Install the SpeedFun Ribelle tuning

Identify the connector that goes from the TCU to the engine (it is the only one that, once opened, will have a green interior). Once identified, disconnect the two connectors, to do so it is necessary to pull the two connectors in the opposite direction (IMPORTANT! Do not rotate otherwise there is the risk of damaging the internal pins).

Now connect the Ribelle SpeedFun release device between TCU and motor.

3. Return the device to the chassis and reinstall the TCU

Insert the device and its cables into the frame (possibly without bending them too much). Once this is done, just re-install the TCU.

Activation and deactivation of tuning

Activation of tuning (speed unlocked above 25 Km / h)

To activate the SpeedFun Ribelle tuning it is necessary to turn on the ebike and type the sequence – + – + with the keys used to adjust the assistance level.

If the sequence has been performed correctly you will see the battery indicator which gives approx. 30%. will go to 80% approx. indicating that the speed has now been unlocked. This animation lasts 3-5sec and, once finished, the real value of the battery charge will be indicated.

Now it is necessary to turn the ebike off and on again to be able to travel with active assistance over 25 Km / h.

Deactivation of tuning (speed blocked at 25 Km / h)

To activate the SpeedFun Ribelle tuning it is necessary to turn on the ebike and type the sequence – + – + with the keys used to adjust the assistance level.

If the sequence has been performed correctly you will see the battery indicator which gives approx. 80%. will go to 30% approx. indicating that the speed has now been blocked. Now the ebike is as in the original. This animation lasts 3-5sec and, once finished, the real value of the battery charge will be indicated.

Now you need to turn the ebike off and on again.

Conclusions

Currently the SpeedFun tuning for Specialized Turbo Levo 2022 is the only device on the market that allows you to see real data on the TCU MasterMind 2022. In our opinion, an ebike equipped with a display deserves to have the correct data … otherwise what’s the fun is!
