SpeedFun Ribelle for Yamaha PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE, PW-ST
SpeedFun Ribelle is an electronic and intelligent electric bike unlocking device that does not require any external power supply.
It is designed for Yamaha PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE and PW-ST engines from 2019 onwards to evade the speed block at 25 kmH allowing to increase its active assistance up to speeds that can exceed 60 KmH by fully exploiting the potential of the Yamaha engine.
SpeedFun Ribelle for Yamaha ebikes always shows real speed and distances on the display.
WARNING!
This device is compatible with motors from 2019 onwards. For 2017-18 engine click here.
Distinction between 2017/18 and from 2019 onwards motor: The two engines are the same outside but the communication system becomes encrypted from 2019. Yamaha has chosen to reverse the sex of the connectors to avoid mounting old displays on new engines where they would not work. This is also the reason why we had to produce two different versions of Rebel.
The 2019 motor is recognized because it normally mounts the “A” sideswitch and “C” displays. A unique way to distinguish it is to check the sex of the 5-way connector that connects the display (see image below).
What is SpeedFun tuning ebike kit Ribelle for Yamaha PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE, PW-ST motorw?
SpeedFun Ribelle is a tuning for ebikes with Yamaha PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE, PW-ST motors from 2019 onwards which allows you to increase the speed of the ebike by removing the block set at 25 kmH. With SpeedFun Ribelle, active assistance is increased up to speeds that can exceed 60 km/h (info), making full use of the engine’s potential.
This ebike speed release device is designed for PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE, PW-ST motors from 2019 onwards with Yamaha “sideswitch” type A display or Yamaha type C display mostly used on Ghost, Lapierre, MBK, Winora, Gitane, Bixs and many more branded ebikes.
The SpeedFun Ribelle ebike tuning always shows both the real speed and distance on the display and can be activated or deactivated by pressing a simple sequence of keys directly from the ebike handlebar control. Activation and deactivation of the device is signaled on the display.
The operating system for avoiding the number of revolutions of the rear wheel of the Ribelle comes into operation only when 16 km/H is reached, progressively reducing the communication of the wheel revolutions to the engine with a particular algorithm, without the cyclist feeling any difference in assistance. It does not intervene in any way at low speeds. This is an important expedient designed not to vary the engine intervention parameters when restarting and on steep climbs (which are the critical and most delicate moments for an engine), thus leaving the parameters studied and optimized by the manufacturer intact, thus avoiding power losses, failures or “hiccup” operations which instead occur with release systems from other manufacturers.
